Dulux and Interpon are our chosen colour specialists and offer a wide range of colour brochures, which are perfect for helping you select the colour you want on your project. You can choose from traditional colours, such as white, grey or charcoal, a matte finish, or go for something completely unique and outlandish.
Application inspiration
Powder coating opens a world of possibilities that brings your ideas and visions to life. Perhaps your outdoor table and chairs are looking particularly worn, or maybe you’d like to refresh the colour of your bike? Whatever you want to achieve, powder coating is your answer. Other examples of items you can powder coat include:
- Outdoor furniture
- Car and motorcycle parts
- Architectural elements (Railings, gates, facades)
- Car accessories (Bull bars, trailer canopies)
- Appliances (Coffee machines, refrigerators)
Factors to consider
Once you’ve decided to go ahead with powder coating your project, it’s important to consider the location of your item, as that too can affect the final colour of your project. For example, is what you’re powder coating going to be in full sunlight? Will the chosen colour be too bright if outside in the sun? Will it be exposed to all kinds of weather, or under shelter of some kind? These are all questions you should ask yourself before selecting your powder coat colour.
Maintenance
How you care and maintain your powder coated item will be dependent on its’ location and whether it will be used in residential, commercial or non-habitable areas. In general, however, we recommend doing the following:
- Gently remove any excess dirt using a clean, wet sponge
- Clean the surface using a soft brush and mild detergent. For more stubborn stains, use solvents, such as Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or methylated spirits, and rinse with clean water afterwards. Be careful not to use anything harsher than these solvents.
- Always clean in temperatures below 25°C, and always rinse surfaces with clean water once you’ve finished.
